OVERVIEW
The Global Internship Program (GIP) is a field mission exposure program by the Gospel Mission of India designed for any foreign national in the age group of 16–30 to provide practical training in the urban and rural mission fields in South India. This program is designed for those Christian believers whose passion for overseas missions goes beyond short-term tour programs and desires long-term experience. Whether you are going back to your own country after the trip or have a desire to serve as a long-term missionary in India, this program will give you initial training to prepare you for a greater mission in building His Kingdom.
DISCOVER YOUR CALLING
Recognize your Identity in Christ: Before you do anything for Christ, you need to get to know your position in Christ. You find greater clarity in your divine calling through this exposure trip when you walk with God by faith and share the gospel.
Recognize your Strengths: Everyone loves to hear that they have certain strengths and abilities. Spiritual Gifts are God-given spiritual strengths, and every Christian has been given at least one by God Himself. Discover your God-given strengthens and learn how to harness them to accomplish the Great Commission of our Lord in your personal and professional lives.
Run through Cross-Cultural Mission: Each person seeks to share the gospel within his or her context. But, God calls Christians to engage with various cultures. India is home to twentytwo chief languages, along with hundreds of dialects. Moreover, each of its twenty-eight states and eight union territories characterizes an irreplaceable mixture of culture, cuisine, and faith. You can experience the cross-cultural ministry in a wide range of contexts and cultures in the crucible of India and across the border in the neighbouring Asian countries.
Relationship Building: Relationships are a key element of the Christian experience. In Christian ministry, relationship-building takes commitment, time, and effort. You can develop lasting friendships and learn what it means to love one another (Hebrews 10:24) through this program
DEVELOP YOUR SKILLS
Spiritual Growth: Spiritual growth is the journey of growing in faith to know God more and become like the person that He created you to be. You can grow in spiritual maturity by following God’s plan for your life. You can reach new depths in your spiritual journey when you exercise your ministry gifts and learn from other like-minded young adults from your country.
Ministry Training: Receive training and education on topics that will develop your leadership skills, evangelistic skills, Discipleship skills and Spiritual maturity.
Leadership opportunities: Sometimes, growing closer to Jesus may need stepping outside a familiar situation. God can do amazing things through us. Therefore, step out of your comfort zone and be part of all the activities within this ministry program.
DEPLOY YOUR VISION
Ministry Awareness: The main goal is to expose students to what is happening around the world, especially in India and give them a vision for being more involved in local and/or global mission fields. You will learn to share effectively the Gospel to the people of other faiths. Also, you will get opportunity to interact with fellow disciples from different countries across various denominations in this trip.
Ministry-specific: You will gain practical experience and skills while serving the community through Gospel Mission of India.

Be part of our Global Internship program for either 10 months or winter internship for 3-6 months or 3-9 weeks.
For Whom?
The global internship is offered for young adults between the age group of 18 and 30.
10 Month Internship 10 Months:
July 2, 2023 to May 4th, 2024 Amount to be fundraised: $5000.00 (includes international airfare & all fun-day activities, but does not include personal spending money or incidentals)
Indian Winter Internship
The cold weather season in India normally begins during mid-November and stays till February. Therefore, our Winter Internship is designed to offer University students the opportunity to complete their internship requirements while serving with us in India.
The winter internship in India will give you the opportunity to put your degree into action as you are getting leadership opportunities to help and be part of short term mission teams.
The winter internship in India is available for college students and/or young adults between 17 and 24 years old.
3 weeks: December 1, 2023 to December 22, 2023 Amount to be fundraised:

9 Weeks: November 1, 2023 to January 1, 2024 Amount to be fundraised:

Schedule
The culture of India is immensely diverse and vibrant. There is so much diversity in India as with every step you will be able to see that people speaking different languages, dressing differently, and eating different types of foods. In an ever-changing environment, no week will resemble each other. This is India! See how you will spend your time while attending various programs.
Ministry Focus:
Christian mission over the years have made a significant contribution in India in the fields of education, health care, languages and literature. During your stay in the mission exposure program, you will have the opportunity to discover each major areas of GMI ministry wings.
You will get opportunity to interact with Bible college students, school children, preschool kids and lots of opportunity for evangelism and discipleship.
Personal and Team development:
Every person also needs a mentor. There will be someone who will take the time to teach and explain things to you. You will get a chance to serve both kids and adult people. Within each area of ministry, your local staff in GMI will assist you as a coach and give you feedback. Your coach will train to share the gospel effectively with others.
A good leader tries to detect leadership potential in others. You will spend one day in each week at the office for reporting and assessment. Moreover, you have team meetings, and preparation for next week ministry.
Three days of a week, you will rotate through the various ministry areas of Gospel Mission of India. One day, you will concentrate on the Children’s ministry by supporting and learning from our local teachers.
In addition, you will get opportunity to attend 2-3 college level courses on Missions, word view, pastoral care, leadership, discipleship, prayer and fasting and language classes (Kannada and Hindi).
